Luciana was born in Rome by her parents. Luciana's father was Manlio Paoluzzi who was an Italian Army officer, and her mother was Maria Rota Paoluzzi who was at one time Benito Mussolini's mistresses. There's no record of her having any siblings. Luciana studied at an elementary school in the area before going into the Scientific Academy of Milan in 1955. Luciana was one of only two females in her class. Her modeling career began after two years. However, this changed when she received her first role in acting accidentally during a visit to her father's Rome acquaintance. It was a 2-line part in the film Three Coins in the Fountain. Brett Halsey, an actor himself, was her very first wife. They completed Return to the Peyton Palace together after their 1960 wedding. Luciana had the custody of Charles who was born on June 13, 1961. The couple divorced one year later. Luciana and Tony Athony dated between 1962-1970. Tony Athony was an actor and producer who was inspired by Luciana's efforts on the film Green Slime. Based on his work, he created and wrote The Spaghetti Western hybrid that became well-known.
